Extension and alterations to a private house
Bloomsbury, Central London

The ground floor was reorganised through two complementary moves: a small extension was added to one part of the house, while part of the existing building was removed elsewhere to create a new linear garden.

A large glazed wall along one side of the garden brings daylight through the staircase and into the entrance hall. On the opposite side, the garden opens onto a new study that also serves as a guest room.

The staircase, doors, desk, sofa bed, built-in furniture, lighting and garden were designed as integral parts of the architectural project.
