Extension and alterations to a private house
Victoria Park Conservation Area, East London

The lower ground floor of this Victorian house was reorganised and extended so that the main living spaces could open directly onto the rear garden. An existing utility area, which separated the living spaces from the garden, was moved to the front of the house. Its former position was combined with a small rear extension to create a new living room facing the garden. Part of the garden was lowered to form an outdoor area level with the interior.

The built-in furniture and bespoke sliding door were designed as integral parts of the architectural project.
